The beginner upholstery class is perfect for those who like to work with their hands and create. This is a hands on class, please be prepared to use tools, sewing machines and staple guns! I will help you to redesign and complete your piece of furniture with the fabric of your choice.
All classes are private classes, one student only! (Max two students at request)
Sewing and upholstery goes hand in hand.
The Beginner class includes 4-hrs of upholstery sewing. You will sew a box cushion, with welting cord and zipper. Afterward I will show you how to sew double welt and you will learn to use different sewing feet. Then we will "tackle" your piece. We can work at our own pace, and I will have enough time to show you different techniques and supplies. This class is tailored around your needs, and I will do my best, to answer all your questions.
I will provide you with tools and upholstery supplies. You will need a chair and fabric of your choice. I will help you to determine the yardage you will need and will try to answer all your questions.

Jute webbing - Burlap - Muslin - Cotton batting - Cambric - Ruby twine - Padding - Spring nails - Zipper - Welting cord - Practice Fabric

$450 for 20-hours Wing back chair from start to finish*

WORKSHOP MONDAY - FRIDAY (Beginner Class + Wingback chair Class + Sewing) 35 HOURS AVAILABLE DURING THE SUMMER TIME
*A picture of the piece of furniture you have in mind, must be submitted for approval before securing your seat in the class.* (No couches or love seats)
We will meet on three consecutive days:
Friday classes: 9 am to 1 pm or 2 pm to 6 pm
Saturday classes: 9 am to 1 pm or 2 pm to 6 pm
Evening Classes are available on Thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm
